Happy Piano Day

This post is by Om Malik from On my Om

Did you know that the 88th day of the year is International Piano Day? Why? Because there are 88 keys on a piano. Today, March 29, is the Piano Day. On the day’s occasion, there is a special playlist you can check out on Spotify. It is also available on other streaming platforms, but ideally, you should buy it on Bandcamp. It is worth supporting the artists who have created some unique tunes for the day. And Piano Day website lists live concerts and events being held across the globe to celebrate the 88 keys!

“Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But mostly, because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it: performers, composers, piano builders, tuners, movers and most important, the listener.”

Nils Frahm, musician.

PS: I love Piano and created a playlist called Piano Perfections that helped me deal with the isolation of the pandemic. Check it out – I occasionally add new favorite tracks to this list.

Anyhoo, we had a packed show with much, much left on the floor as we tried to shoehorn the week into our time slot. Here’s what we got into:
