After a few months of silence on my blog (mainly because I was focusing 100% on securing employment), I finally have something to write about – and I couldn’t be happier to do so.
During the last 2 years, I had the luxury of being a student while getting to spend some time working in the startup ecosystem. I was able to learn from classmates and professors in Boston as well as from those I worked with at Lowercase, Gumroad, PICT, and BabbaCo. All of those experiences influenced the way I thought about joining a company, evaluating various aspects – the team, company culture, the vertical, the product, how users feel about it, the stage, the role, etc.
During the last week and a half, I spent time working with the team at Wanelo and couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining them full-time working on partnerships and business development. When evaluating all the different aspects of Wanelo, each one came back more positive than the next. A simple Twitter search will show how passionate the user base is, and the company sits at the intersection of social, commerce, and content, three verticals about which I have spent a significant amount of time thinking.
I’m excited to be returning to SF full-time after living there last summer, and I can’t wait to be part of an incredible company in a great city.
…by the way, anyone looking for a roommate?
